Okay, here’s my blog post about building the “lucy zzz” team, written from my personal experience, just like the example you gave:
So, I had this idea, right? “lucy zzz” – it was gonna be the thing. I don’t know about a team, I just start it.
Getting Started (and Stumbling)
First, I messed around, trying to design Lucy herself. Sketches everywhere! I mean, everywhere. My desk looked like a paper factory exploded. I wanted her to look sleepy, but also, like, kinda cool, you know? Not just a total zombie.
I Pulled out my old drawing tablet, the one I hadn’t touched. Dusted it off, charged it up… and immediately got frustrated. The pen pressure was all wonky, the lines were shaky. I forgot how much practice this stuff takes!
Then I started messing with, trying to get a basic model, nothing good,i use my old pc. The computer can’t even start a new file, it keeps crashing, so I had to find my friend for help, he helped me install one, finally.
The First (and Only) Teammate
I spent a good week just getting the basic shapes right. Then, I showed it to my buddy, Mark. Mark’s a whiz , much better than me. I was like, “Dude, check this out! ‘lucy zzz’!”

He looked at my screen, squinted, and said, “What…is that? A melted marshmallow?” Brutal, I know. But honest. And that’s what I needed.
I explained the whole concept, the vibe I was going for. And he got it! He actually got it. He started throwing out ideas, things I hadn’t even considered. Suddenly, Lucy wasn’t just a blob on my screen, she was starting to take shape.
- Color Palette: I was stuck on basic grays and blues. Mark suggested adding some subtle purples and pinks, to give her a more dreamy feel. Genius!
- Posing: My Lucy was just standing there. Mark showed me some dynamic poses, like she was mid-yawn, or leaning on a giant pillow. Way more interesting.
- The ‘zzz’: Originally, I just typed out “zzz”. Mark came up with this stylized, swirling ‘zzz’ that looked like it was floating off her. So much better!
Where We’re At Now
So, “lucy zzz team” is really just me and Mark, banging away at this thing. It’s messy, it’s chaotic, and sometimes we want to throw our computers out the window. But it’s ours. And Lucy, she’s slowly but surely coming to life. We’re not sure what the future use of this team is, but for now, it’s our fun.
It’s still early days. We’ve got a long way to go. But hey, every epic journey starts with a single, shaky, slightly-melted-marshmallow step, right?
