Okay, so I’ve been trying to snag some tickets for the UNC vs. Duke basketball game. You know, the game. It’s always a huge deal, and this year I was determined to go.

First, I checked the official university websites. Both UNC and Duke have dedicated athletics pages, and I figured that’s where the tickets would drop first. I spent days refreshing those pages, but no luck. They mostly had info about past games, season tickets, and stuff like that.
Then, I hit up the big-name ticket sites. I won’t name, you know them all. I was constantly searching, setting alerts, and basically living on my phone. Every time I got a notification, my heart would jump, but it was always for some other game or a ridiculously overpriced resale ticket.
The Resale Market Hustle
- I even brave the secondary, the “resale,” websites. It was a jungle.
- Prices were all over the place, mostly way up high.
- I saw some tickets that seemed kinda reasonable, but then the fees would kick in and double the price. Seriously, the fees!
I talked to some friends who are alumni of both schools. I figured they might have some inside scoop or know someone who knew someone. One buddy said he might be able to get me a student section ticket, but that fell through. Another friend suggested I try entering some online contests, but that seemed like a long shot.
Finally, After all,I got a ticket through a friend’s friend, that I could go with them!
So, yeah, that’s my story of trying to get UNC-Duke tickets. It was a wild ride, and I learned a lot about patience, persistence, and the crazy world of college basketball ticket sales.
