Alright, so today I was keeping up with the golf scores, you know, just casually checking in on the John Deere Classic. And, well, bummer news – Rory McIlroy didn’t make the cut. I actually had to double-check to make sure I was seeing things right.

First, I pulled up the leaderboard on my phone. I scrolled through, looking for Rory’s name, expecting to see him somewhere near the top, like usual. But he wasn’t there. I scrolled some more, thinking, “Okay, maybe he’s having an off day, he’s probably just a bit further down.” Still nothing.
Then it hit me. I went all the way to the bottom of the list, and there it was, his name, with a “MC” next to it. Missed Cut. Seriously, I was surprised!.
My reaction process
- Checked the leaderboard.
- Searched for Rory’s name repeatedly.
- Realized he missed the cut.
- Felt a mix of disbelief and disappointment.
- Started write that blog to record my surprise.
It’s a tough break, you know? Rory’s such a fantastic player. I was really rooting for him. I guess everyone has those days where things just don’t go their way. I hope he get a good rest and come back stronger!
