Okay, so I’ve been messing around with Clash of Clans again lately, and I decided to really focus on my Town Hall 4 base. I remember when I first started, I just threw everything down willy-nilly. Big mistake! This time, I wanted to do it right.

Getting Started: The Basic Idea
First, I cleared out all the junk – trees, rocks, you name it. Gotta have a clean slate, right? Then, I started thinking about what’s most important at TH4. You know, protecting your resources and that Town Hall.
Placing the Important Stuff
I put my Town Hall right in the center. I mean, it makes sense, right? It’s the heart of the village! Then, I surrounded it with my storages – gold and elixir. Those are like gold dust at this level, so they need maximum protection.
Building the Walls
Next up, walls! I used every single wall I had. I didn’t go for a fancy design at first, just a simple square-ish shape around my core buildings. My thinking was: get the basics down, then tweak it later. I made sure there weren’t any gaps – those sneaky goblins will find any way in!
Adding Defenses
- I placed my cannons and archer towers strategically outside the walls.
- I tried to get them to cover as much ground as possible, so they could pick off attackers from different angles.
- I also remembered to upgrade them whenever I had the gold. Stronger defenses, fewer raids, simple as that!
The Mortar: My Secret Weapon
The mortar is a lifesaver at TH4. I tucked it inside the walls, close to the center, because it’s got that awesome splash damage. It can really mess up groups of archers and barbarians.
Traps and Tweaks
I sprinkled my traps – bombs and spring traps – around the outside of the walls, especially near where I thought attackers would likely come from. I figured every little bit helps, right?

Testing and Improving
I didn’t just build it and leave it. I watched replays of attacks on my base. I noticed where the weak points were, and I adjusted my walls and defenses accordingly. It’s all about trial and error, I guess!
Finally,I keep tweaking and improving. It is pretty solid. I am winning way more defenses, and my resources are safer. It isn’t perfect, of course, but it’s a heck of a lot better than my first TH4 base!
