Okay, so today I wanted to dig into the stats for the Dodgers vs. Houston Astros game. I’m a huge baseball fan, and these two teams have some serious history, so I figured it would be cool to see how the players performed head-to-head.

First, I needed to find a good source for the data. There are tons of sports websites out there, but I wanted something reliable and easy to navigate. I’ve used a few different sites before, and some are better than others, honestly.
I started by searching for the game. Just typed “Dodgers vs Astros” into the search bar, followed by the date of the game I was interested in. Right away, a bunch of results popped up.
I looked for a site like, a main one for sports, you know, the easy to spot ones. Clicked on the game summary. Boom! There was a box score, but I wanted more detailed player stats.
I scrolled around the page a bit. Usually, there are tabs or links for more in-depth stats. Found one that said “Player Stats” – perfect!
Once I clicked that, I got a breakdown of each player’s performance. For hitters, it showed things like:

- At-Bats (AB)
- Runs (R)
- Hits (H)
- Runs Batted In (RBI)
- Home Runs (HR)
- Strikeouts (SO)
- Walks (BB)
And for the pitchers, the stats were different, like:
- Inning Pitched (IP)
- Hits Allowed (H)
- Runs Allowed (R)
- Earned Runs (ER)
- Walks (BB)
- Strikeouts (SO)
I spent some time just browsing through the stats, comparing players from both teams. It’s interesting to see who had a good game and who struggled. I was checking things to see all their best players, and who did well.
After looking at the individual player stats,I decided I wanted to see them side by side. It can really tell you the story of the game.
So, that was my little data dive for today. Nothing too crazy, but it’s always fun to check out the numbers behind the game!
