Okay, so today I decided to tackle a “some golf tournaments” crossword. I’ve always liked crosswords, they’re a fun little brain workout, you know? But I’m not a huge sports guy, so golf… that’s a bit outside my usual knowledge zone. But hey, challenge accepted, right?

First, I grabbed a pen and the printed-out crossword. Yeah, I’m old school, I like paper. Then, I scanned the clues. A bunch of them were totally obvious, fill-in-the-blanks about everyday stuff. Easy peasy.
But then, bam! The golf ones. “The Masters,” okay, I’ve heard of that one. “The Open Championship”… I think I’ve heard that on TV. I scribbled those in, feeling pretty good.
Then came the tricky ones. Four letters, starts with a ‘P’… Hmm. I stared at it for a good while. PGA? Could that be it? I penciled it in lightly, just in case.
- “Ryder _____” – Blanked. Totally blanked.
- “___ Cup” (also a golf tournament apparently) – No clue.
- Something about a “green jacket” – Was this even English?
I decided to cheat… just a little. I pulled out my phone and did a quick search. And there it was, I quickly looked for the answer.
So, “Ryder Cup“! Makes sense now. And that “green jacket” thing is related to the Masters. Who knew?

I filled in the rest of the crossword, using my newfound “knowledge”. It felt a little bit like cheating, but hey, I learned something new, right? And I finished the crossword! That’s the important part, isn’t it?
It was tough for a non golf fan, though it was a fun experiment
