Alright, so I’ve been messing around with MLB The Show 24, and let me tell you, the batting stances are a whole thing. I wanted to get my created player feeling just right, you know, like a real pro. So, I started off just picking a stance that looked kinda cool, one of those generic ones they give you.
Didn’t really work out, though. Felt stiff, wasn’t hitting for power, just generally not vibing with it. Time to dive into the deep end of the stance creator.
Figuring Out the Feet
- First up, the feet. I spent a good chunk of time just moving my guy’s feet around. A little wider, a little closer, open, closed, you name it. It’s amazing how much just changing where your feet are can affect your swing. I finally settled on a slightly open stance. Felt more natural and helped me turn on those inside pitches.
Hand Placement is Key
- Next, hands. This was a whole other can of worms. Higher, lower, closer to the body, further away. Each little tweak changed the timing and the bat path. I ended up going with a medium hand position, not too high, not too low. Made it easier to adjust to different pitches.
The Devil’s in the Details
Then there were all those other little details. The front elbow, the back elbow, the hand waggle, the stride. It was like, overwhelming at first. I just started experimenting, one thing at a time. Raised the front elbow a bit, got rid of the hand waggle cause it was distracting, and went with a small stride to keep things simple.
Testing it Out
Took my new and improved stance into batting practice. First few swings felt weird, ngl. But I stuck with it, made a few more tiny adjustments, and boom. Suddenly, I was crushing the ball. Line drives, deep fly balls, felt like I could hit anything.
From Practice to the Game
Of course, batting practice is one thing, a real game is another. I jumped into a game, and yeah, there were definitely some growing pains. Took a few at-bats to really get the timing down, especially against breaking balls. But once I did, it was awesome. My guy felt unique, like my own creation, and I was hitting better than ever before.
So yeah, messing with batting stances in MLB The Show 24 is a deep dive, man. But it’s worth it. If you’re willing to put in the time and experiment, you can create a stance that feels perfect for you and really take your game to the next level. Just remember, it’s all about finding what feels natural and gives you the best results. Don’t be afraid to tweak and adjust until it’s just right. Good luck and keep swinging!
