Okay, so I’ve been in this fantasy football league for a couple of years now, and it’s always a good time. This year, though, things got a bit interesting with Ezekiel Elliott. I mean, the guy’s been a beast in the past, but this season he’s a free agent, and nobody in my league has picked him up yet. It got me thinking: should I take a chance on him?
So, I started digging around. I looked up his stats from last year, checked out some articles about his potential, and even browsed through a few fantasy football forums to see what other people were saying. It seemed like a mixed bag. Some folks were saying he’s washed up, others thought he could still be a decent RB2 if he lands in the right spot.
After gathering all this, I decided to make a list of pros and cons.
Pros:
- He’s Ezekiel Elliott: The dude’s got a track record. He’s been a top-tier running back for years, even if last season wasn’t his best.
- Potential Value: If he ends up on a team that needs a solid running back, he could put up some decent numbers.
- Low Risk: Since no one else wants him, I can probably snag him for cheap or even off the waiver wire.
Cons:
- Age and Decline: He’s not getting any younger, and his production did drop last year.
- Uncertainty: We don’t even know what team he’ll be on, or what his role will be.
- Opportunity Cost: Picking him up means I’m potentially passing on another player who might be a safer bet.
Then I weighed these pros and cons, going back and forth in my head. I even talked it over with my buddy who’s also in the league. He wasn’t too high on Zeke, but he did make some good points about the potential upside. I spent a good amount of time thinking, overthinking, and re-thinking about it.
Finally, after all that, I made my decision. I decided to go for it. I mean, why not? It’s a low-risk, potentially high-reward situation. I put in a waiver claim, and we’ll see what happens. Even if it doesn’t work out, it’s not like I’m losing much. At least, it should be fun, we’ll see if he can still be that same old Zeke.
