Okay, so, I’ve been diving deep into this “Elden Ring” game lately, and let me tell you, it’s a wild ride. Today, I wanna talk about this one questline involving a character named White Mask Varre. I tried this quest out today and want to share my experience and what I did.
Meeting Varre for the First Time
First off, I bumped into this guy, Varre, right at the beginning of the game. He’s hanging out near the First Step Site of Grace, you can’t miss him. He gave me the lowdown on the whole Elden Ring situation and hinted at what I should be doing next. I talked to him a few times and exhausted his dialogue, just to make sure I didn’t miss anything important.
Heading to the Roundtable Hold
After getting the horse and meeting Melina, I went to the Roundtable Hold. This is like the main hub for the Tarnished. I explored a bit, talked to some folks there, and just generally got a feel for the place.
Defeating Godrick the Grafted
Then, it was time to take on my first major boss, Godrick the Grafted. He’s in Stormveil Castle, which took me a bit of time to navigate through. The fight with Godrick was tough, I tried many times. But I finally managed to beat him after a while. This is a key step, trust me.
Back to Varre
With Godrick down, I went back to the First Step to see Varre. Guess what? He wasn’t there. But he left a message telling me to go to the Roundtable Hold. So, off I went. I found him there, and he basically said, “Good job, kid,” and told me to go meet the Two Fingers.
Meeting the Two Fingers
I followed Varre’s advice and had a chat with the Two Fingers. They’re these, uh, interesting entities that give you some more direction in the game. After that, I went back to Varre again.
Varre’s Next Request
This time, Varre gave me a new task. He handed me some Festering Bloody Fingers and told me to invade other players’ worlds. Now, I’m not a huge fan of PvP, but I did it three times as he asked. You don’t have to win these, just participate.
Moving to Rose Church
After the invasions, Varre was gone from the Roundtable Hold. I found a message from him at the Rose Church in Liurnia of the Lakes. So, I traveled there and found him standing outside.
The Bloody Task
Varre then asked me to soak a piece of cloth in a maiden’s blood. He mentioned a few locations, but I chose the Church of Inhibition because it seemed like the most straightforward path. I rode there, found the dead maiden, and soaked the cloth with her blood.
Final Steps with Varre
Back at the Rose Church, I gave the bloody cloth to Varre. He was pretty happy about it and gave me a permanent Bloody Finger, which is handy for more invasions. Then he asked me to swear an oath to a new lord, Mohg. I agreed, and he gave me the Pureblood Knight’s Medal.
Using the Medal
Varre told me to use the medal when I was ready to meet Mohg. I did that, and it teleported me to Mohgwyn Palace. This place is pretty intense, filled with strong enemies, and let me tell you, I was immediately under attack, but I persisted.
Exploring Mohgwyn Palace
I started exploring the area, fighting my way through those tough enemies. It’s a pretty dangerous place, but I found some useful items and Sites of Grace along the way. It took some time and effort.
The Final Encounter
Eventually, I found a red invasion sign near the Mausoleum Dynasty Midpoint Site of Grace. This was Varre’s sign. I invaded his world and had to fight him. He’s not too tough if you’ve made it this far. After defeating him, I reloaded the area and found him on the ground.
The End of Varre’s Questline
I talked to Varre one last time, and he basically says his goodbyes. After that, he died, and I looted his body for some items. And that’s it, that’s the end of Varre’s questline.
It’s a pretty involved quest with lots of steps, but it’s worth doing. You get some cool items, and it leads you to a hidden area with a major boss. Plus, it’s just a really interesting story to follow. If you’re playing “Elden Ring,” give it a shot!
