Okay, here’s my firsthand experience with “Alan Wake 2” and the whole Denuvo deal.
So, I’ve been pumped for “Alan Wake 2,” right? I mean, who hasn’t? The first one was a trip, and I was itching to see where they’d take the story. But then there’s this whole thing about Denuvo, and I was kinda worried. For those who don’t know, Denuvo is some kind of anti-piracy tech that some games use. It’s meant to protect games from being cracked, but it can sometimes mess with the game’s performance.
I was checking out some forums, and saw a lot of people asking “Does Alan Wake 2 Have Denuvo?”. I dug around a bit, and I found out that “Alan Wake 2” will not use Denuvo on PC. At first, I was like, “Seriously? That’s awesome!”
I got the game on my PC. My rig’s not the newest, I’m running an NVIDIA 10-series, not top-of-the-line or anything. But I went ahead and installed it.
Installation was smooth. No weird hitches or anything. I launched the game and started playing. And let me tell you, it ran pretty well! No major frame rate drops, no stuttering, nothing that made me think, “Oh, that’s Denuvo causing problems.”
- I played through the first few chapters, got into the story.
- Then I cranked up the graphics settings, just to see how far I could push it.
- Still smooth. I mean, it wasn’t like 120 FPS at 4K or anything crazy, but it was totally playable and looked great.
The game is running smoothly!
So, based on my experience, it seems like the developers made a good call skipping Denuvo. The game’s running great, and I haven’t encountered any of the performance issues that sometimes come with that DRM stuff. I’m just glad I can enjoy the game without worrying about technical problems. If you are worried about running “Alan Wake 2” on your older NVIDIA 10-series and AMD 5000-series, don’t worry, it should be fine.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m gonna jump back into the dark and spooky world of “Alan Wake 2.” Wish me luck!
